தமிழ் தேதி, திதி, நட்சத்திரம், யோகம், கரணம் — பாரம்பரிய வாக்கிய (பிரம்ம சித்தாந்த) முறையில் கணக்கிடப்படுகின்றன. ராகு காலம், யமகண்டம், குளிகை, கௌரி நல்ல நேரம், சூரிய உதய/அஸ்தமன நேரங்கள் — Swiss Ephemeris (லாஹிரி அயனாம்சம்) வானியல் கணக்கீட்டில் பெறப்படுகின்றன. பெயர்ச்சி, கிரகணம், முகூர்த்தம், சுப தினங்கள் ஆகிய பக்கங்களும் இதே வானியல் கணக்கீட்டையே பயன்படுத்துகின்றன. தமிழ் மாதப் பக்கங்கள் (Tamil Maasam) தினசரி பஞ்சாங்கத்தைப் போலவே வாக்கிய முறையில் கணக்கிடப்படுகின்றன.

Tamil date, tithi, nakshatram, yogam and karanam use the traditional vakya (Brahma-siddhantha) method. Rahu kalam, yamagandam, kuligai, the gowri windows and sunrise/sunset come from precise astronomical calculation with the Swiss Ephemeris (Lahiri ayanamsha). The planetary-transit, eclipse, muhurtham and auspicious-day pages use that same astronomical calculation. The Tamil-month (Tamil Maasam) pages use the traditional vakya method, same as the daily panchangam.

Every time on this site is computed for Chennai (13.08°N, 80.27°E) and shown in IST. For the rest of Tamil Nadu that is a close approximation — a few minutes either way; in other time zones the difference is larger. There is currently no option to pick a different city.

If a date or a time looks wrong, send it through the contact form with the page URL and the date — and, if you have one, the name of the almanac you compared it against. That is everything we need to check it.

If the value is calculated, we re-check the calculation; if it is transcribed, we re-check it against the source list and correct the transcription. Fixes go live on the next build. The "Updated" date on an article is never typed in by hand — it is read from that file's real revision history.
